After steamrolling their way through the top three teams in the West, the Kings will line up with a similarly surprising New Jersey Devils team out of the east. Though the Devils hold just 3/2 odds of coming through for a payout on the NHL lines, the heightened play of Martin Brodeur puts them in the conversation to stage an upset.
For the first time since the playoffs began the No. 6-seeded Devils will hold home-ice advantage, but they’ll need a lot more than only that if they want to make noise on the Stanley Cup futures. In addition to Brodeur’s heroics between the pipes, they’ll need an offense capable of solving L.A. wunderkind Jonathan Quick.
Can the
veterans in New Jersey complete their quest against the odds and win Brodeur another Cup in the twilight
of his Hall of Fame career, or will it be the Los Angeles youth movement running away with the rights to the summer parade.
The gloves are off.
