Well-rested and ready to contend after dismantling the Yankees in the ALCS, it’s no surprise that early MLB odds point to Detroit as the best of seven favorites, but don’t underestimate the momentum and home-field advantage that the Giants will take into the series.

Not only does San Francisco have subtle advantages in their favor though, but one overbearing one that the Tigers will have to address over the course of the series. The Giants have World Series experience from as recent as 2010 – and it’s winning experience at that.

If Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera is to cap off his historic season with a championship, he’ll need to rally a team that hasn’t made an appearance in the World Series since 2006 and a successful one since 1984. Still, he and his Tigers have the -175 advantage on the MLB moneyline.
