Big Ten Preview – Iowa Hawkeyes
The Winters are long and agonizing in Iowa City…get ready to add the Fall to that equation as well. Entering this season with optimism is going to be a challenge for even the most loyal Hawkeye fan. The 2012 season ended with ZERO 900 yard rushers, ZERO 700 yard recievers, ZERO pass catchers with 65 receptions. This is how an offense can average less than 20 points per game. in present day College Football! Throw in a sophmore QB from a South Florida school that’s primarily a running team and the prospects of no real improvements on the roster spells nothing but…TROUBLE for Kirk Ferentz.
This season looks like nothing more than “wait ’till next year” campaign. A 4 win season looks to be about right as this offense won’t be able to dig itself out of the hole that it’s undermanned defense is sure to put them in each and every Saturday.
I wonder how many time Kirk Ferentz will think about how he said no to the NFL just a few short seasons ago?
