Sports Betting Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

Here is look at the various line moves on the Tuesday card.  As we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

NBA – (503) ORLANDO at (504) BROOKLYN   7:35 E  FSFL, WCBS

After being among the worst offensive teams all season, Brooklyn has started to get healthier and its offense has picked up, scoring over 100 points in four of their last five contests. Orlando continues to have problems putting the ball in the basket, ranked two spots below the Nets at 23rd on points scored at 96 a game, but their defense, which allows 101.9 PPG, has influenced the total rising two points to 194.5. This is a hard one to agree with the direction of the line move with the Magic 14-6 UNDER on the road. SWM TakePlay Under

NBA – (505) SACRAMENTO at (506) NEW ORLEANS  8:05 E  SS, FSFL

New Orleans earned just their second victory of the new year last night at Memphis 95-92, ending their laborious eight-game losing streak and leaving them 2-9 (4-7 ATS) in January. The Pelicans have yet to scratch out a win at home in 2014 and initially were a one-point home favorite before being switched to a one-point underdog. Sacramento enters tonight on step-five of a rugged six-game road trip and by record; this will be the Kings easiest task of the excursion. However, the Kings offense has been stymied the last two games by Memphis and Oklahoma City and is 3-13 ATS away after two or more consecutive Under’s the last three seasons. The better play might be the OVER since these clubs are on a 7-0 streak. SWM TakeLean New Orleans (Think Over)

NBA – (537) PURDUE at (538) NORTHWESTERN   9:00 E  BTN

College basketball bettors are ignoring the last performance by both these Big Ten teams and taking a longer view for tonight’s clash. Northwestern caught Indiana in a Wisconsin-Michigan State sandwich and upset them on the road 54-47 as 13-point underdogs. After years of dominating Penn State, Purdue shot a season–low 31.6 percent at home and needed OT to hold off the Nittany Lions 65-64 as touchdown favorites. Hoops bettors are not impressed with the Wildcats and shifted them from +1.5 to +3, knowing they are shooting under 40 percent (39.8) for the season and could struggle to score points. Northwestern is 2-8 ATS as an underdog this season. SWM TakeLean Purdue

NHL – (59) ST. LOUIS at (60) NEW JERSEY  7:05 E  FSMW, MSG+

On the surface, this is a very curious line move against St. Louis. The Blues are 15-8 SU on the road this season and are a stellar 14-3 against Eastern Conference wherever they play. Nevertheless, St. Louis has sunk from -140 to -125 on the money line despite having won four of five overall against the Devils and three straight meetings in New Jersey. Maybe the thinking is the Devils will be excited to be back home after 1-3 road trip and historically they are 12-2 on home ice  having lost three of their last four games the last three seasons. SWM TakeSt. Louis wins
