Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

Back to a full slate of baseball today and sports bettors have taken a particular interest to three of the interleague conflicts and made significant line moves. Here is the complete rundown of what we have for Tuesday. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.
MLB – (959) SAN DIEGO at (960) SAN FRANCISCO 10:15 E FSSD, CSN-BA
The Giants have lost 10 of 13 games, including four in a row at AT&T Park. One aspect which has really affected the offense is not having Angel Pagan as the catalyst, as he leads the club with a .307 average and has missed seventh straight contests with back stiffness. This has led to those making sports picks to shy away from San Francisco, as they have slid from -160 to -140 on the money line. While there is justification for such thinking, Tim Hudson (7-3, 2.39 ERA) and his new teammates are 7-0 at home and dating back to last season, the right-hander is 13-0 in home games vs. teams whose hitters strike out seven or more times a contest. MLB – (973) PITTSBURGH at (974) TAMPA BAY 7:10 E ROOT-P, SUN
You have to wonder at what point sportsbooks will stop making the team with the worst record in baseball as favorites in Tampa Bay. The Rays have been favored in 77 percent of their contests (60 of 78) and are 26-34, -22.2 units. Once again tonight they are favored but have tumbled at least 15 cents to under -135, with Chris Archer (4-4, 3.14) pitching. Since May 1, nobody has had worse run support than Archer at 1.95 RPG. Jeff Locke (0-1, 3.76) goes for the Pirates and he has 2.14 ERA in three starts this month and is 2-1 with a 1.37 ERA in four starts against the American League. After last night’s 8-1 drubbing at the hands of Pittsburgh, the Rays are 8-21 after a loss by six runs or more. SWM Take – Lean Pittsburgh
MLB – (975) L.A. DODGERS at (976) KANSAS CITY 8:10 E FSW, FSKC
Kansas City ended their four-game slide in defeating Zack Greinke and the Dodgers 5-3 on Monday. This evening is even harder, facing Clayton Kershaw (7-2, 2.52 ERA) who is coming off one of the most dominant no-hitters in baseball history. Those betting baseball are more than happy to back the outstanding left-hander and elevated L.A. from -140 to -155 or higher. We are not saying the Dodgers will lose, but the Royals have Danny Duffy (4-6, 2.80), who has a 1.75 ERA in his last four outings and Los Angeles has often been Charles Barkley “turrible” against the American League. In this instance, Dodger Blue is 3-18 in road games vs. AL teams allowing 4.2 or less runs a game since interleague play began. SWM Take – Lean Dodgers
MLB – (977) ATLANTA at (978) HOUSTON 8:10 E SS, CSN-H
The toothpaste is out the tube on Aaron Harang (5-6, 3.83), as his fast start is becoming a distant memory. Like all Atlanta starters, Harang has been bitten by a lack of run support, with the Braves 29th in runs scored at 3.6 per contest. While Houston is no powerhouse and has lost six of seven, those generating MLB picks are reaching for the Tums and reduced the Atlanta from -120 to around a Pick (-105). Scott Feldman (3-4, 3.95) takes the pill for Houston, but has a 7.54 ERA in his last four outings at Juice Park.
