Lines: Auburn -1.5 … Over/Under 48.5

A Look At Washington

The Washington Huskies made it to the NCAA playoffs back in 2016 and have their sights set on getting there. This team is loaded as they have back 17 starters from a team that went 10-3 a year ago. Jake Browning has had a strong career for the Huskies and is set to have a huge senior season. The WR corps is solid while the offensive line is one of the best in the league. The running game is in very good hands as Myles Gaskin is back. He ran for 1380 yards and 21 TDs a season ago and will look to put up similar numbers this year. This offense is a bit better than the one that hung up 36.2 ppg a year ago.

A strong offense is complemented by a very good defense. The Huskies have allowed 18.8 ppg or less in each of the last three years and this version will be just as good, if not better. Washington gave up just 16.1 ppg a year ago and they have nine starters back from that group. They are led by a secondary that rates as 2nd in the nation while the defensive line is 1th. This could be the best defense in the Pac-12. Offense, defense, and depth. The Huskies have it all, but they will be taking on one of the best teams in this SEC, which makes this a great game.

A Look At Auburn

The Auburn Tigers went 10-4 last year, but they did lose 34-27 to UCF in the Peach Bowl. This year, they are set to have another solid season. The Tigers averaged a solid 33.9 ppg a year ago and could be a bit better this year. Jarrett Stidham is back after passing for 3158 yards with 18 TDs and six INTs a season ago. He is considered to be the best QB in the SEC and he has plenty of weapons to throw to as they have one of the best receiving corps in the nation. Kerryon Johnson’s 1391 yards and 18 TDs will be tough to replace, but Kam Martin has experience and was highly touted coming out of high-school. Theis offense should to last year’s numbers.

The Tigers have allowed just 17.1 ppg and 18.5 ppg their last two year and look to have another solid defensive unit on their hands. They have seven starters back from a group that allowed just 18.5 ppg a season ago and will be led by a defensive line that rates as one of the best in the nation. That defensive line will be tested against one of the best offensive lines in the nation. That should be a fun battle to watch. Can the Tigers slow down the potent attack of the Huskies? Can the Huskies slow down a potent Auburn attack? The defenses are both strong and will be the key to this game.
