Sunday Night Football and a pair of teams from the NFC East will square off as the New York Giants grapple with the Dallas Cowboys. This game has a start time of 8:20 pm ET and will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Cowboys won both meetings between these teams last year. Dallas enters this game off a 16-8 loss to Carolina on the road, while the Giants are off a 20-15 home loss to the Jags.

Lines: Dallas -3 … Over/Under 42

A Look At The Giants

The New York Giants are picked for last in the NFC East and their season did not get off to a great start as they lost to the Jaguars at home by a score of 20-15. They look to get on track in this one against a Dallas team that did not look all that well last week. The offense didn’t look great against the Jags, but Saquon Barkley had a nice start to his career as he ran for 106 yards and a TD. That is a solid outing against a very tough Jacksonville defense. He looks to have a bright future in the NFL. Eli Manning hit 23/37 passes for 224 yards and an INT. It was not a great start for him. The Giants may be looking to draft a QB in the first round next year.

New York’s pass defense played well as they allowed the Jags to throw for just 168 yards. The run defense did not do that well as the Jags ran for 137 yards on them. Stopping the run was a chore for them last year and it looks like it will be an issue for them this year as well. They will need to stop the run in this one if they hope to knock off the Cowboys. The Giants lost both games to the Cowboys last year and Dallas ran for 122 and 129 yards in the two games.

A Look At The Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys were looking to get off to a fast start this year, but that just didn’t happen. Dallas started the year with a 16-8 loss to Carolina on the road. Their offense has been a mess as they have averaged just 10.2 ppg in their five games, which includes the preseason. Can they get their offense back on track in this one? Their ground game has a shot as the Giants don’t have a good run defense. They ran for just 94 yards on the Panthers. Elliott had 69 yards rushing and a TD in the contest. Dak Prescott did not have a good game as he hit 19 of 29 passes for 170 yards while getting sacked six times.

The Dallas defense struggled to stop the run against the Panthers as they allowed 147 yards in the game. They now have to try and stop Saquon Barkley who had an impressive debut. The pass defense didn’t have many struggles as the Panthers threw for 146 yards. Both teams struggled in their openers, especially on offense. Can they break out in this one or will the defenses steal the show? If it comes down to the better defense, the Cowboys have an edge.
