Handicapping The College Football Bowl Games! 88-54 62% last 4 years all bowls!
Wanted to talk a little bit about the Bowl games this year. Many of you have followed me for the past 19 years and know how hard I work on producing a profit for my clients. Most of you know that I’ve become more selective here the past few years with all my picks. It’s all about winning for my clients. Having said that several years ago I found that I did very well releasing a side pick on every bowl game on the board. This is something that I normally would preach against as I’m all about selectivity and proper money management and playing every game is usually a crazy idea and will put you in the poor house. However, the bowl games have been very profitable over the past 4 years releasing a side pick on EVERY single game on the board. Overall my record stands at 88-54 62% last 4 years with a pick on every bowl game. I don’t think anybody can touch those numbers.
Let’s go into how I approach the bowl games. First and foremost my own unique power ratings are what I mainly look at. These have been updated all year. Every week after the College Football games were over I would update my power ratings. This is really how I get my College Football picks during the season as well and many of you know last year I cashed 66% in the CFB regular season. I also look at 8 other sets of power ratings on each and every game and along with my own personal ratings I compare them with the numbers released by Las Vegas. That’s where I get my first edge from. I also do trend analysis on every single game on the board. Usually this don’t take me off of a game but if it’s a trend or trends that I feel is strong it could create a higher rating for that particular game I’m looking at. I also will look at the returning starters and check my formula for each game using that method. At this point in the season this won’t take me off of a game but could make the play stronger.
Usually post season plays in all sports are very rare for me these days with the exception of the bowl games. If I see something I really, really like we will pound it much harder. Most of these plays will be Dime plays. First off, you need to set an amount you are going to play each game for and stick with it the entire bowl season. What I’m saying is if I start off 5-0 and you only played $100 on those 5 games, don’t play $1000 on the next game. You need to stay consistent across the board. You can raise your amount for a 2 dime or 3 dime play if we have any, but please stay CONSISTENT the entire bowl season!
