Both team lost their aces this offseason, so they’ll replace them with a pair of hurlers each making their Opening Day debuts.
Texas will put Colby Lewis on the mound, who was 14-10 with a 4.40 ERA and 169 strikeouts last season. Chicago counters with John Danks, who was 8-12 with a 4.33 ERA and 135 strikeouts, but who also signed a five-year, $65 million extension this past winter.
The Rangers will battle with the Angels for the division title this season; as the Halos added some star power – most notably Albert Pujols – to contend in the AL West. Los Angeles has 4/5 odds of coming out on top as division champions, while Texas’ MLB futures are set at 11/10 in that category.
As for the White Sox, their odds of winning the AL Central are set at 10/1, second only to the Tigers, who are at 2/7, thanks to Cy Young winner Justin Verlander and the addition of MVP candidate Prince Fielder. Bet on MLB now.
