Jack’s Free Pick Tuesday: New York Yankees -126
I’ll back the New York Yankees Tuesday as a small home favorite over the Milwaukee Brewers. Freddy Garcia is one of the most underrated starters in the league this season. Garcia is 6-6 with a 3.23 ERA and 1.295 WHIP in 13 starts this season, including 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA and 1.016 WHIP in his last three outings. In three interleague starts this year, Garcia sports a 2.14 ERA and 0.905 WHIP. Zach Greinke is very lucky to own a 7-2 record this season because his 4.77 ERA through 10 starts is little to be desired.
Greinke is 2-2 with a 5.64 ERA and 1.478 WHIP in four road starts this season. He has not fared very well against the Yankees in the past, going 2-3 with a 4.38 ERA and 1.487 WHIP in seven career starts against them. The Brewers are 15-24 on the road this season, hitting .231 and scoring 3.5 RPG. Greinke is 14-44 as a road underdog of +100 or higher since 1997. The Brewers are 8-23 in their last 31 interleague road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Yankees are 39-16 in their last 55 interleague home games vs. a right-handed starter. New York is 70-31 in their last 101 interleague home games overall. Bet the Yankees Tuesday.
