Sports Betting Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

For Thursday, here is a look at top line moves in the various sports and our free pick opinions on each.  As we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

NBA – (501) PHOENIX at (502) INDIANA  7:05 E  FSAZ, FSIN (side and total)

The Pacers have the best record in the NBA and the second-best ATS record in the Association at 29-15 and those betting basketball are clamoring to play them, lifting Indiana two points to -12. While this technically makes all the sense in the world with Pacers 21-1 and 16-6 ATS on their home floor, let’s not lose sight that Phoenix has the best ATS mark in the NBA at 30-14-1 and on the road, they are the top road wager at 17-6 ATS. Also, I recently wrote an article talking about teams off a four-game or longer road trip like Indiana is coming off of and these teams are 12-25 ATS their first game back. The total is also up two digits to 201, but the Suns are 7-0 UNDER in away outings versus winning teams. SWM TakePhoenix covers and Under

CBB – (531) INDIANA at (532) NEBRASKA  8:15 E  BTN

The total on this Big Ten clash is tumbling, down from 140 to 138. The Hoosiers offense has something to do with it, scoring just 56.3 points per game in their last three contests, all Under’s. Nebraska rang up 82 points on Minnesota to win their past game, but prior to that the Cornhuskers had averaged 62 PPG in their last trio of contests. Nebraska is off a hot shooting night from behind the arc and is 24-8 UNDER after a game where they made 50 percent or more of their 3-point shots.SWM TakePlay Under

CBB – (563) TENN-CHATTANOOGA  at (564) DAVIDSON  7:00 E

Though Davidson has pedigree on their side and has played a better schedule, the Moccasins are a perfect 8-0 in conference play and have fallen from +11.5 to +10. UT-Chattanooga has won 10 straight and covered their last four and should make this competitive contest. Davidson is however 15-5 ATS against Southern Conference foes at home the past three years. SWM TakeUT- Chattanooga covers

NHL – (13) SAN JOSE at (14) CALGARY  9:05 E   CSN-C, SNW

San Jose’s offense has resembled the deep freeze most of the country is experiencing, having been shutout in consecutive games, while at least receiving adequate goaltending. Calgary on the other hand is gotten below average play from its netminders in surrendering 10 goals in their past three contests, however, the Flames offense has been hot in tallying 13 goals and they are on a three-game winning streak. These two factors alone have helped the Sharks to sink from -175 money line favorites to below -150 at most sportsbooks. Prior to the two losses, San Jose had won six straight and might have just had a flat spot, nonetheless, they are 15-29 the past three seasons playing a third game in five days.
