Here is the freshest information about the latest NFL football line moves. Studying line moves can become a very profitable venture if you know what to look for.
NFL – (209) SAN FRANCISCO vs. (210) JACKSONVILLE 1:00 ET FOX
Football fans in Europe will get to see some of the best the worst of what the NFL has to offer on Sunday. It is clear only divine intervention will keep Jacksonville from being 0-16 this season and the Jaguars shot up from +14.5 to +15 on the NFL betting lines. Anyone wagering on this game knows San Francisco can name the final score. Update – After jetting to as high as 17-points, the line on this contest has come back 14.5 or 15. Better than 3-to-1 are betting the Niners. SWM Take – San Francisco covers
NFL – (213) N.Y. GIANTS at (214) PHILADELPHIA 1:00 ET CBS
The first meeting between these NFC East combatants had the highest total on over 20 years at 54 points and they surpassed it with Philadelphia winning 36-21. The second gathering found a similar figure, this time at 53, but the betting odds are heading down on this one, now listed at 51.5. Here are reasons why. First, for all the yards Philadelphia gains, they are only averaging 24.1 PPG. Next, we all go to see how uneven the Giants offense is functioning (thanks ESPN). Finally, New York is 8-1 UNDER after a victory by 14 or more points and these squads are 6-1 UNDER at Philly. Update – For the most part, the total has continued to sink, listed anywhere from 49.5 to 51. Even with the drop, almost 65 percent are still on the Over. SWM Take – Lean Over
NFL – (219) MIAMI at (220) NEW ENGLAND 1:00 ET CBS
New England might not be close personnel-wise to teams of the past thru injury and attrition, but they are gathering ample support to knock off Miami. The Patriots began as 4.5-point favorite, which seemed low; however, the Brady bunch was rather swiftly taken to -7. And why not. with the Dolphins 2-11 ATS after two or more SU losses as a favorite and the Pats 7-1 ATS after surrendering 28 or more points. Update – There has been a reversal, with New England evenly split at 6 or 6.5. Nonetheless, over 70% of wagers are on the home team. SWM Take – New England covers
NFL – (221) N.Y. JETS at (222) CINCINNATI 4:05 ET CBS *New
Off their impressive upset of New England last week, the Jets are drawing a great deal of support. After being released at +7, the Flyboys have steadily been coming down to their present +4.5. Three elements to consider. New York is now on the road, the Cincinnati defense is better at this juncture than the Patriots and teams like the Jets off a home underdog upset are 2-9 ATS this season the following week. SWM Take – Cincinnati covers
NFL – (225) WASHINGTON at (226) DENVER 4:25 ET FOX (side and total)
Matching two of the worst defenses in the NFL against two of the hottest offenses permeates the aroma of points. Unless it snows in Denver on Sunday, there is every reason to support the total rising from 54 to 57.5 points. The Broncos are 12-3 OVER versus offensive teams averaging 350 or more yards a game the last three seasons. In addition, after starting as a two-touchdown choice, Denver is down to -12 and is 0-7 ATS after scoring 30 points or more in four straight games. Update – Offshore books are still posting 57.5 points for the total, but in Nevada, 59 to 60 points is prevalent. With rare exception, Denver has been lowered to -11. Two-thirds of the action is on the Redskins and three quarters on the OVER. SWM Take – Leans with Washington and Over
NFL – (227) ATLANTA at (228) ARIZONA 4:25 ET FOX
Despite Atlanta having a decisive edge at quarterback, the betting public is on the home team, lifting Arizona from -1 to -3. Evidently, they are not sure all the Falcons injuries will transfer as well to playing on the road and on the grass, even if Carson Palmer suits up for the Cardinals. Arizona is 20-7 ATS at home off a home setback. Update – By Thursday afternoon, Arizona was at -2.5 and has essentially maintained that position, despite only 35 percent backing. SWM Take – Arizona covers
NFL – (229) GREEN BAY at (230) MINNESOTA 8:30 ET NBC
How bad did Minnesota look on Monday night, the line on this NFC North contest was actually moving at halftime. The Vikings had gone from +6.5 to +8 and finally landed at +9.5, as ESPN’s John Gruden was unusually critical of Minnesota’s quarterback move. Reports now have Christian Ponder taking over for Josh Freeman who is suffering concussion-type symptoms. Green Bay comes in riding a 12-2 ATS streak against division foes. Update – Once it was official Freeman was out and Ponder was in, the number went back towards where it was with the Pack is -8 at most locations, with almost 55% of followers. SWM Take – Lean with Green Bay
