Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

With a couple game still waiting for lines because of injuries, this week in the NFL is rather quiet to this juncture. Since we are dropping the puck tonight, have a couple NHL trends. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (169-129 L58D)

NFL – Thursday (101) INDAINAPOLIS at (102) HOUSTON 8:25  ET  CBS

The Indianapolis offense has been hot all season with Andrew Luck at the controls, tied for first in points scored at 31.2 PPG. Though Houston’s defense is ranked fourth in points allowed (17.4 PG), the total has been shoved from 45 to 46. If you buy into the oddmakers having the Colts as three-point favorites, making an approximate final score of 24.5 to 21.5, Indy is 10-0 OVER when both teams score 20 or more points since last season. At the other end of the spectrum I find the Houston 6-0 UNDER after scoring seven points or less in the first half of two straight games since 2012. Betting Trend – 61% are backing the Over

NFL – (251) DENVER at (252) N.Y. JETS 1:00 ET  CBS (side and total)

When Denver was released by sportsbooks at -7 against the Jets, the general perception is that number appeared low and it was swiftly taken to -8.5, before settling back at 8. With the Flyboys floundering at quarterback and having issues in the secondary, this line moving to -10 seems justified by appearances, discounting the mental states of both teams. The Broncos are 18-6 ATS after gaining 500 or more yards. If the public like Denver, you know the total is also headed upwards and it has risen from 46.5 to 47.5. Betting Trend – 92% are backing Denver to cover and 64% are on the Over

NFL – (253) PITTSBURGH at (254) CLEVELAND 1:00 ET  CBS

While CBS analyst Gary Danielson does not believe in “momentum”, bettors reviewing this rivalry game do and have take Cleveland’s “Cardiac Kids” from a Pick to -2 against Pittsburgh. While it is admirable how the Browns do not quit, they have lost 14 of 19 SU to the Steelers at home and might now be overvalued. Betting Trend – 55% are backing Pittsburgh to cover

NFL – (263) CAROLINA at (264) CINCINNATI 1:00 ET  FOX

There has been a modest bump in the total in this non-conference clash, up one point to 44.5. After a good start, the Carolina defense is surrendering 33.3 PPG in their last three outings and could be vulnerable to the Bengals passing attack. However, Cincinnati is 15-6 UNDER at home when the total is between 42.5 and 45 points. Betting Trend – 67% are backing the Over

NFL – (275) N.Y. GIANTS at (276) PHILADELPHIA 8:30 ET NBC

This NFC East encounter has two Top 9 offenses from the scoring perspective, yet the total is down a digit to 50. If both teams pass rushers can harass the other quarterback, this could hold the score down and with the Giants RB Rashard Jennings listed as doubtful, that does not help New York’s running game. The Giants are 13-2 UNDER on the road vs. teams allowing 24 or more points a game. Betting Trend – A crazy 97 percent are backing the Over
