Short slate for Thursday, yet those betting baseball still found plenty to voice their opinions about.  Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (28-19 L12D)

MLB – (903) PHILADELPHIA at (904) MIAMI  6:10 E  CSN-P, FSFL

The Phillies have lost six straight and 10 of 12 and those making MLB picks want nothing to do with Philadelphia and sent them from +105 to +124. Kyle Kendrick (3-8, 4.22 ERA) would not seem to be much help based on his record and he allowed 15 runs in the first inning in his 15 starts, typically placing his team in an early hole. Miami will look to ride the hot stick of Casey McGehee, who is on a nine-game hitting streak and he’s batted .363 while reaching base in 26 consecutive encounters. The Marlins go for the sweep and are 22-11 after three or more home games this season. SWM Take – Miami wins

MLB – (907) L.A. DODGERS at (908) COLORADO  8:10 E  SNLA, ROOT-RM

The Dodgers are off two dreadful performances which cost them a series victory over Cleveland and head on the road where they play better. Los Angeles is 26-16 (+8.5 units) away from Chavez Ravine, nonetheless, those studying the betting odds are not impressed and dumped the Dodgers from -160 to -140. That might be harder to swallow than black licorice with Zack Greinke (10-4, 2.78) starting. While it is true Greinke has 6.23 ERA in three starts at Colorado in Dodger blue, he and his teammates are 17-3 when he pitches and they are off a loss.SWM Take – Dodgers win

MLB – (913) N.Y. YANKEES at (914) MINNESOTA  8:10 E  YES, FSNO

The Yankees just gave away a fantastic opportunity playing 12 of their past 15 contests at Yankee Stadium against AL East competition and winning only five times. New York tries to regroup having their ace throwing, Masahiro Tanaka (11-3, 2.10). The right-hander has lost his past two starts, but only allowed five runs in 16 innings, while his feeble teammates scored a single run in the process. The former Bronx Bombers have dipped from -160 to -142, facing former teammate Phil Hughes (8-4, 3.58), who beat them back on June 1. Minnesota is also slumping (2-7) and is 4-18 vs. an AL starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.300 or better this season. SWM Take – Yankees win

MLB – (915) TORONTO at (916) OAKLAND  9:05 E  SNET, CSN-CA

Intriguing battle of two first place teams, with one club heating up and the other seeking a reversal of fortunate. Toronto impressively won both games versus another first place squad in Milwaukee, while the Athletics were tamed by the Tigers, losing three times and outscored 17-7. Though the A’s were released as a chalky -175 favorite, they are down below -160, having created enough uncertainty. Sonny Gray (7-3, 3.20) throws for the home team against the Blue Jays R.A. Dickey (6-7, 4.24), who is 1-5 with a 4.83 ERA in seven road outings. You might recall Toronto took all three games on Memorial Day weekend north of the border and the A’s are 9-0 revenging a same season three-game wipeout.SWM Take – Oakland wins
