The NFL season keeps churning along and we have the Week 8 line moves thus far along with other unique trends to consider. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (199-149 L64D)
NFL – (257) ST. LOUIS at (258) KANSAS CITY 1:00 ET FOX
A number of sharp and regular bettors were all over the Chiefs last week and were rewarded with Kansas City sinking San Diego 23-20. Some of those same bettors are staying on the K.C. Express in this I-80 matchup and lifted them a point to touchdown favorites. Besides how well the Chiefs played coming off a bye, this is a rugged scheduling spot for the Rams, despite the perceived notion of a rivalry which happen in the regular season just every years. St. Louis is off two home division games and has two more NFC West contests on deck, making focus an issue. Betting Trend – 77 percent backing Kansas City
NFL – (259) SEATTLE at (260) CAROLINA 1:00 ET CBS
The usual cracks of Super Bowl champs have occurred with Seattle at 3-3. The laser focus of the Seahawks has been lost other than with Russell Wilson. NFL football bettors are not convinced Seattle is finished and took the Hawks from -3.5 to -5, playing their third road game this month, in Carolina. The Panthers were dreadful in Green Bay and Seattle is 38-20 ATS vs. NFC foes. Betting Trend – 77 percent backing Seattle
NFL – (263) MIAMI at (264) JACKSONVILLE 1:00 ET CBS
This seemingly does not happen often, Miami and Jacksonville both coming off victories at the same time. The wagering public is more inclined to support the team which at least scratches in the win column more than once a month or more and shifted the Dolphins -4 to -6. One can surmise the Jaguars are not in a favorable, however, Miami is not in the best situation either, being 3-6 ATS as a true road favorite the last 10 years. Betting Trend – 94 percent backing Miami
NFL – (267) BALTIMORE at (268) CINCINNATI 1:00 ET CBS
There is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding Cincinnati after their last three games and they have sunk as home favorites from -3 to -1.5 despite their recent 10-2 ATS record at home. With the Bengals floundering and Baltimore playing into Game 1 revenge, the more stable Ravens are attracting the wagering action and given a real chance to win. Betting Trend – 67 percent backing Baltimore
NFL – (275) GREEN BAY at (276) NEW ORLEANS 8:30 ET NBC (side and total)
This could not be more obvious then Alessandra Ambrosio walking into a sports bar. The Packers are 6-1 OVER this season and the Saints are 5-1 OVER. In the past eight meetings between these teams the OVER is 7-1. You have a smoldering Aaron Rodgers and a highly motivated Drew Brees at home. Any wonder the total went from 52 to 55? In addition, bettors are counting on New Orleans bounce back and taken the Saints from a Pick to -1.5. Betting Trend – Interesting to find 85 percent backing Green Bay and 67 percent on the Under
NFL – Monday (277) WASHINGTON at (278) DALLAS 8:25 ET ESPN
Dallas has everyone in football’s attention for all the right reasons. The Cowboys have as complete an offense as there is in the NFL and the defense is not making the same silly mistakes, which has made it simple for bettors to take Dallas from -7.5 to -9.5. It looks like Washington’s quarterback miscues are not going away (even with 3rd-stringer Colt McCoy starting) and the Redskins are 4-13 ATS as underdogs. Betting Trend – 63 percent backing Dallas
