Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

With baseball in the books, the NBA will get more television action and attract more bettors. A number of NBA games have seen wild adjustments, mostly because of injury. We will focus on the one EVERYONE will care about plus three football contests with shifting numbers. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (209-162 L68D)

NFL – (301) NEW ORELANS at (302) CAROLINA 8:25  ET  NFLN

Many football bettors are not trend players tonight. How do I know, well, New Orleans has been pushed from -1.5 to -3 at Carolina in spite of the Saints recent 0-7 ATS record as road favorites. Instead, the focus is on Drew Brees having an offensive line that can move the pile against the Panthers 28th ranked run defense and having all his weapons back on the field. Here is my question to you – Do you trust a favorite that has long seven straight on the road in the regular season? SWM Take – Lean New Orleans

CFB – (303) TROY at (304) GEORGIA SOUTHERN  7:30 ET ESPNU

It’s a given Georgia Southern’s top-rated run offense (404.7 YPG) will grind Troy in the ground and score ample points. However, those betting football wonder if the Trojans will score many points and lowered the total from 66 to 63. If you subtract the 35 points Troy tallied against mighty ABILENE CHRISTIAN (in defeat no less), this takes the Trojans anemic offense down to 16.4 PPG. Our numbers say the adjustment is too much and fits in between, which will be our choice. SWM Take – Slight lean Over

CFB – (305) FLORIDA STATE at (306) LOUISVILLE  7:30 ET ESPN

Football bettors like many who follow college football have wary eye in wondering about Florida State. This team is 1-6 ATS this season and Louisville is the total defense leader in the country and both their losses were close on the ACC road. The Seminoles have been lowered from -7 to -5 (nowhere land), but this could go back up by game time. Update – Later on Tuesday after our article hit the internet, Florida State went all the way to -3.5 as many of you emailed me. The number stayed put, but as I expected, checking several books I’m seeing 4 and 4.5 and would not be surprised one bit to see that the going rate or higher by game time. Just over two-thirds tickets purchased are on the Noles. SWM Take – Lean Florida State

NBA – (503) NEW YORK at (504) CLEVELAND  8:05 ET  TNT  (side and total)

For these line moves we should have Hotels.com Captain Obvious do them. Does it surprise anyone Cleveland with LeBron and his new friends has blown up from -10 to -13? And given the Cavaliers will be WAY better offensively than defensively to start the season and if you saw New York ALMOST attempt to play defense last night against Chicago, are you shocked the total was jettisoned from 199 to 203? Talk about Hot in Cleveland! SWM Take – Cleveland covers and Over
