Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

With an insignificant amount of line movement in the NFL battle of Ohio, we have three other sports covered for line moves on Thursday. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (221-175 L71D)

CFB – (111) CLEMSON at (112) WAKE FOREST  7:30 ET  ESPN

Wake Forest has the ACC’s worst offense which is averaging a wretched 213 YPG and just 14.7 PPG and faces the conference’s best defense in Clemson who is surrendering only 269 YPG. So why would the Tigers be a diminishing favorite from -22 to -21? Thought improved, QB Deshaun Watson is listed as doubtful and Clemson has only averaged 18.6 PPG in his absence. Hard to give three touchdowns for a team having problems scoring. SWM Take – Slight lean Wake Forest

NBA – (701) SAN ANTONIO at (702) HOUSTON 8:05 ET  TNT

The Thursday night opener on TNT has two of the Top 10 teams in the early season not allowing many points. Houston is second in the league in points conceded at 91.4 and San Antonio is 10th at 95.3. This in part has led to the total sinking from 201.5 to 199, but possibly an even more important reason is the sluggish Spurs offense at only 94.7 PPG. The two teams are a combined 8-0 UNDER to start the season and eight of the last 12 meetings have also gone UNDER. SWM Take – Lean Under

NBA – (703) DALLAS at (704) PORTLAND 10:35 ET  TNT

In the TNT nitecap, the money is going the opposite way, with total moving upwards from 206.5 to 208. The Dallas offense is off to a super start to the season, leading the Association in scoring at 111.8 PPG and in field goal percentage at 52.4. Portland is 4-0 UNDER this season and in the last two contests in which the totals were 208 and 210, the Blazers did not even sniff 190 points, let alone come close to the number. With oddsmakers setting this high a figure, the presumption is the Mavericks will dictate tempo and this series moves to 8-3 OVER in recent gatherings. SWM Take – Play Over

NHL – (55) MINNESOTA at (56) OTTAWA  7:35 ET  FSN-N, RDS

Went through the injury reports trying understand how Minnesota could go from +105 to -125 on the money line against Ottawa. The Wild lost leading scorer Zach Parise to a concussion two nights ago and were already without Matt Cooke. Granted, the Senators also have injury issues which could affect their depth, but they are 7-1 in recent contests with Minnesota and the Wild presumably will not be helped by penalties since their power play is 29th in the NHL. SWM Take – Ottawa wins
