Sports Watch Monitor Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

Both sports in postseason-mode as not showing much early reaction from sports bettors, but we found three baseball favorites which really took a tumble in the bettors eyes. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

MLB – (959) ARIZONA at (960) MILWAUKEE  8:10 E  FSAZ, FSWI

In the battle of the best against the worst in the National League, did not see this one coming. Sure Milwaukee has lost four of five and has injury-woes, but they are still 21-11 and back home against Arizona, who despite winning three of four is 11-23. The Brewers have nose-dived from -170 to -140 on the money line, as we seek answers. Maybe Matt Garza (1-3, 5.00 ERA) is worrisome, he’s had a rocky road, yet he is 3-1 with a 2.48 ERA against the D-Backs of late. And it’s not like Mike Bolsinger (1-1, 5.79) is considered the next Felix Hernandez. With the total at 8, the Snakes are 5-15 when the total is 7 to 8.5 this season.

SWM TakeMilwaukee wins

MLB – (967) N.Y. YANKEES at (968) L.A. ANGELS  10:05 E  YES, FSW

The Yankees leave the Big Apple after a sorry 1-4 homestand, in which their starting pitchers were pummeled for a 6.49 ERA and .342 opponents’ batting average. David Phelps (0-0, 3.86) will try to end this misery on the other coast, but he has not pitched since April 23 due to injury. After a slow start, Jered Weaver (2-2, 4.00) is rounding into form with a 2.08 ERA in his past three outings. However, in spite of his team beating the Yankees nine of Weaver’s 14 career starts, the right-hander is sporting a 5.90 ERA versus the Bronx Bombers and he the Angels have crashed from -175 to -150. The Halos are just 7-8 at home, nevertheless, the combination of Weaver in Anaheim has the L.A. posting a 82-34 record when he straddles the rubber.  SWM TakeAngels win

MLB – (973) TEXAS at (974) COLORADO  8:40 E  FSSW, ROOT-RM

It is an odd week for these two clubs playing each other four times this week, two at each park. Colorado is a very solid 11-5 at home (+4.6 units), averaging an astonishing 7.4 runs a contest at Coors Field. Texas arrives in the Rocky Mountains off a quality series win in Anaheim and has one of its best starters Martin Perez (4-1, 2.95) taking the ball. It is not often a pitcher comes to Colorado and improves, but this has been the case of Jordan Lyles (3-0, 2.70) thus far. Even with this, the Rangers have rode from +120 underdogs to +105 and they are 18-7 vs. a NL starting pitcher whose ERA is 2.70 or better. Before you put a saddle on Texas, also realize they are 5-21 in road games vs. an NL team with an on-base percentage of .340 or higher. SWM Take – Lean Texas

NBA – NHL Notes– Very little movement early on in Game 1 of either series which commences tonight. The Washington at Indiana contest is virtually a dead even matchup by wagers placed the betting public has shown a preference with the Clippers and the points at almost 60 percent. With the OVER 32-18 thus far in the postseason, both games are taking bets that way seven out of 10 times.

In the Stanley Cup chase, after evening up the series last night, Pittsburgh is being chosen to take a lead on the road by over half of sports bettors. Anaheim is an overwhelming choice to beat Los Angeles tonight and end their five-game winning streak.
