50* (NFLX) - Chiefs/Cardinals ESPN No-Brainer (Chiefs -3) The Chiefs have said the starters will play the first half. While I doubt they are in there that long, I love the depth of this Kansas City team, especially in the trenches on the offensive and defensive line. The QBs behind Mahomes aren't terrible. Arizona hasn't said if they are playing their starters long and I could see them being quick to pull the plug. Cardinals got a lot of guys that are either banged up or on the Covid list. Expectations are that Chandler Jones, Markus Golden, Justin Murray and Brian Winters won't play. Justin Pugh and Jordan Phillips are also on the COVID list. That's 3 offensive linemen they are down before kickoff. Give me the Chiefs -3!

50* (NFLX) - Pats/Eagles Thursday Night VEGAS INSIDER (UNDER 38.5) I think we are getting some great value with the UNDER at 38.5. I know both of these teams played in relatively high-scoring games in their first preseason matchups, but the Eagles only managed 16 points against the Steelers and all of those came in the 1st half. Patriots game with Washington was just 9-7 going into the 4th quarter. It's also worth noting that these two teams have been doing some joint practices leading up to this game. With limited playbooks in the preseason, both defenses should be at an advantage. Give me the UNDER 38.5!

40* (NFLX) - Preseason Situational VEGAS INSIDER (Patriots +1.5) I'm not going to spend a lot of time with analysis on NFL preseason games. I focus a lot on QB depth, playing time, depth and coaching. I don't think NE should be a dog here. I think the Pats have a lot to like with Cam Newton, Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer. Normally don't get a guy as experienced as Hoyer as the QB3, which is normally the guy that gets the most reps in the first game. Also think NE has solid depth and we know they are extremely well coached. Give me the Pats +1.5!

40* NFLX SATURDAY NIGHT ATS KNOCKOUT (Chiefs -3.5) I'll take my chances here with Kansas City covering the 3.5 at home against the 49ers. I know it's just preseason, but the hype around this Chiefs team is off the charts in KC and I expect as close as you can get to the atmosphere of a regular-season game in a preseason matchup. Mahomes and the offense weren't sharp in Week 2 at Pittsburgh, but I think after that lengthy rain delay to start the game, Andy Reid decided to play it safe with the starters. I expect to see more out of Mahomes and that offense and I think the defense plays well. Give me the Chiefs -3.5!

50* NFLX - VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (Bills -3) I'll take my chances here with Buffalo laying a field goal at Detroit. Not a lot of people are talking about the Bills going into the 2019 campaign, but this team has impressed in the preseason. The defense has been outstanding, as it was in 2018 (#2 total defense). The more important thing is the offense looks better and that's to be expected with Josh Allen now in year two after kinda being forced into things as a rookie. Detroit will not play Stafford and there's not a lot to like with backups Josh Johnson and David Fales. Give me the Bills -3!

40* NFLX BLOCKBUSTER ATS ANNIHILATOR (Patriots -3.5) I'll take my chances here with New England. We didn't get to see Tom Brady last week, but I think he's going to be in action here. Last year Brady played the entire 1st half of the Pats Week 3 preseason game. It's a pretty decent 1-2 punch with Hoyer as the backup and rookie Jarrett Stidham has played great the first two weeks. Cam Newton will be playing for the first time, but I expect Carolina to be extremely cautious with not only Newton but all their stars after his recent run with the injury bug. Not a lot to like behind Newton with Kyle Allen, Will Grier and Taylor Heinicke. The trio was just 22 of 42 for 155 yards (4.4 avg) last week against the Bills. Give me the Patriots -3.5!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (OVER 42) I'll gladly take my chances here with the OVER. The Giants have put up 30 points on their own in each of their first two preseason games and they got quite the 1-2 punch for the preseason in Eli Manning and rookie Daniel Jones. Manning really seems to be using the push from Jones in a positive way. He's a perfect 5-5 and led NY to a TD on his only drive last week. Even 3rd and 4th stringers Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta have played well. We saw Cincinnati's defense get torched for 38 by the Chiefs in their first game. Giants defense has looked decent, but a lot of that has to do with the Bears only using quarterbacks Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray last week. Andy Dalton will be in there a decent amount and the Bengals have a pretty decent rookie QB of their own in Ryan Finley, who was 20 of 26 for 150 yards and 2 scores last week. Give me the OVER 42!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (Chiefs -2) I'll gladly take my chances here with KC laying less than a field goal. Andy Reid typically plays his starters the entire 1st half in Week 2 of the preseason (I think it might end up being just a little over a quarter if things go well). Either way the Chiefs have some great depth at QB. I really liked what I saw from Chase Litton and Kyle Shurmur last week against the Bengals. It's also not just the QB depth. KC is a very deep team and are going to have to cut a lot of guys that will be picked up by other teams. Perfect recipe for preseason success. Give me the Chiefs -2!

40* NFLX OVER/UNDER TOTAL NO-BRAINER (Over 41) I'll take my chances here with the OVER 41. Two of the better backups in the league will be featured here with the Patriots Brian Hoyer (12 of 14 for 147 yards 2 TDs in Week 1) and the Titans Ryan Tannehill (12 of 16, 130 yards 2 TDs Week 1). Not mention both 3rd string guys played well. New Englands Jarrett Stidham threw for 179 yards and a score, while Logan Woodside of the Titans has 138 yards and 2 TD passes. Plenty of chances for scoring throughout this game. Give me the OVER 41!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (Giants -1.5) I'lll take my chances here with the Giants carrying over that momentum from Week 1. The biggest thing here is I like Daniel Jones and he's going to get a lot of playing time. Not to mention, both Alex Tanney and Kyle Lauletta both played well in Week 1. Bears offense did not look good in last week's loss to the Panthers and I think they struggle to put up enough points to win this game. Give me the Giants -1.5!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (Falcons -1.5) I'll take my chances here with Atlanta snapping their 10-game losing streak in the preseason with a win at home over the Jets. I just really like this matchup. While the Jets starters are expected to play the 1st quarter, they will be down the interior of their offensive line as starting guards Brian Winters and Kelechi Osemele will not play, same with starting center Ryan Kalil. The even bigger factor here is the defense. No disrespect to the Giants, but that's not an offensive juggernaut, especially without star RB Saquan Barkley. The Jets allowed the Giants to rack up over 400 yards and 30 points in Week 1. All the talk was about the strong game from rookie Daniel Jones, but Alex Tanney went 14 of 19 for 190 yards and a score and Kyle Lauletta was 9 of 12 for 116 yards and a score. We probably won't see a lot of Matt Ryan, but look for whoever lines up under center to torch this awful Jets secondary. Give me the Falcons -1.5!

I'm pretty picky with the Week 1 lines, but I just feel San Francisco is worth a shot given the depth they have at the quarterback position and I'm well aware that Jimmy G won't be playing. I like both Nick Mullens and C.J. Beathard, especially in comparison of the Cowboys No. 2 and No.3 signal callers in Cooper Rush and Mike White. Give me the 49ers -4!

Bills head coach Sean McDermott has said the starters will play close to a full quarter, while Indy head coach Frank Reich is expected to sit the majority of his starters and the Colts have also said they plan to use a much more simple defensive scheme than they did in last year's preseason games. There's a lot more talent on this Buffalo roster than they get credit for and I love going against the public here. Give me the Bills +2.5!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (OVER 41) We have seen a number of high-scoring games this preseason and I'll gladly take my chances here with the Bengals and Cowboys eclipsing their total of 41. Both first units were impressive in Week 1. Dallas went 75 yards on 10 plays for a TD on their opening drive, while the Bengals needed just 6 plays to cover 64 yards in their route to a TD on their first drive. I think both offenses are really trying to establish something in the preseason. We should see a lot more of the first team offense in this one and I like what I've seen from the backup quarterbacks on both sides. Give me the OVER 41!

I think there's some legit motivation for the Browns and it's not just from their ugly loss in Week 1 to the Giants. Buffalo is the team that gave up on current Browns starting QB Tyrod Taylor and I think we see the entire team rally behind Taylor and do whatever it takes to get the win here. Give me the Browns -3!

40* NFLX NO DOUBT ATS KNOCKOUT (Cardinals -2.5) I'll gladly take my chances here with Arizona laying less than a field goal at home. For me it's all about the quarterback depth chart and the Cardinals should hold a massive edge in that department. Sam Bradford will get things going for Arizona, but we figure to see a ton of backup Mike Glennon and rookie Josh Rosen, who has created a big buzz with how good he's looked in camp. Chargers will likely only put Philip Rivers out there for a series and there's just not the same excitement for this game with LA. Arizona is trying to build something under their first year head coach and I think they win this one going away. Give me the Cardinals -2.5!

I don't think Jon Gruden is going to play his starters much, if at all, in this one, while I think Matt Patricia and the Lions are going to take this one a little more seriously. Patricia is trying to change the culture in Detroit and that's evident by reports that practices are going almost 45 minutes longer than they were a year ago under Jim Caldwell. I'll take the more motivated team catching points. Give me the Lions +3!

50* NFLX VEGAS SHARP MONEY TOP PLAY (Chiefs -2.5) I'll gladly take my chances here with the Chiefs laying less than a field goal at home against the Texans. Andy Reid has hinted towards KC playing each of their four quarterbacks a quarter each. That's an entire quarter with starter Patrick Mahomes and veteran backups Chad Henne and Matt McGloin. While Desean Watsons is expected to play, I don't see Bill O'Brien playing him more than a quarter. That means a lot of Joe Webb and Brandon Weeden, which I think is a big advantage for the Chiefs. I also think KC has a much deeper roster than the Texans, which is huge in Week 1 when the starters don't play a ton. Give me the Chiefs -2.5!

I like the fact that the Ravens have already got a legit scrimmage under their belt, as they played against the Bears in the Hall of Fame Game. Regardless if Joe Flacco plays, we can expect to see a lot of backups RGIII and Lamar Jackson, which is quite a 1-2 bunch for backups in the preseason. The Rams are a team that has nothing to prove in these exhibition games and head coach Seen McVay has already said a number of their key players won't even take the field. Baltimore has finished 4-0 each of the last 2 years in the preseason and with the win over Chicago have won 9 straight preseason games. Give me the Ravens -3!

New Orleans should be a better team in 2015, but I don't think they have a whole lot to offer outside of their starters. Baltimore on the other hand has one of the best GM's in the business in Newsome and have a much deeper and talented team. Ravens backups should dominant once the starters go out. Roll Baltimore -3!
